Community Rules

Last Updated: March 28, 2026

Overview

Iron Lands is a competitive community of strategy players. To maintain a respectful, fair, and enjoyable environment for all players, we enforce a clear set of community rules. Violations of these rules will result in enforcement action, ranging from warnings to permanent bans.

1. Offensive Names

Policy

Usernames, character names, faction names, and settlement names must not contain offensive, discriminatory, or inflammatory content. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Slurs or hateful language targeting protected groups (race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability)
  • Sexually explicit or suggestive names
  • References to violence, terrorism, or illegal activities
  • Impersonation of staff members
  • Spam or deliberately misleading names designed to confuse or trick players
  • Names containing excessive profanity

Guidelines

Names should be appropriate for a general audience and reflect good sportsmanship. While competitive names are encouraged, they should not demean, mock, or attack specific players or groups.

Enforcement

First offense: Username reset with warning. Players will be required to select a new name before continuing play.

Repeated violations: Account suspension (7-30 days) or permanent ban.

2. Offensive and Obscene Language/Material

Policy

Players must not post, share, or promote offensive, obscene, or sexually explicit content in any public or private communication channel, including but not limited to chat, in-game messages, forums, and support tickets. This includes:

  • Excessive profanity or vulgar language
  • Sexually explicit images, videos, or descriptions
  • Hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory language
  • Content that promotes violence, self-harm, or illegal activities
  • Harassment, bullying, or personal attacks on other players
  • Spam, flooding, or intentional disruption of communication channels
  • Links to or promotion of explicit third-party content

Guidelines

Keep conversations respectful and game-related (when applicable). Disagreements and competition are normal, but personal attacks are not tolerated. Minor profanity in the heat of gameplay is treated leniently, but persistent or targeted language will be sanctioned.

Enforcement

First offense: Warning and temporary chat mute (up to 24 hours) dependent on severity.

Second offense: Extended chat mute (up to 7 days).

Subsequent offenses: Account suspension (7-30 days) or permanent ban.

Severe violations (hate speech, sexual content): Immediate permanent ban without warning.

3. One Account Per User

Policy

Each player is permitted to maintain only one active account per server. Multi-accounting — the creation and operation of multiple accounts by the same player — is strictly prohibited. This includes:

  • Operating multiple accounts simultaneously on the same server
  • Sharing account access with other players
  • Account selling, trading, or gifting to other players
  • Creating secondary accounts to manipulate economy, avoid consequences, or gain strategic advantage
  • Allowing family members or roommates to operate separate accounts without staff approval

Guidelines

Players may maintain accounts on different server instances (e.g., one on a seasonal server and one on a permanent server). However, we monitor for coordination between accounts that violates competitive integrity. If you share internet access with other players, notify support to avoid misidentification.

Enforcement

First offense: All secondary accounts merged or deleted. Primary account issued warning.

Repeated violations: Account suspension (30-90 days) or permanent ban of all associated accounts.

Strategic multi-accounting for economic manipulation or competitive advantage: All accounts permanently banned without refund.

4. No Bots, Macros, or Automation Tools

Policy

The use of automated tools, bots, macros, scripts, or any software that performs actions on your behalf is strictly prohibited. This includes:

  • Automated clicking, resource farming, or production management
  • Macros that perform repeated game actions without manual input
  • Bots that automate combat, trading, or market manipulation
  • Scripts that exploit the API or bypass game mechanics
  • Tools that alter game client behavior or remove intentional delays

Guidelines

Third-party tools designed to read game data for reference purposes (wikis, calculators, production guides) are acceptable. Tools that interact with the game client or perform actions automatically are not. When in doubt, ask support before using any third-party software.

Enforcement

First offense: Account suspension (7-30 days), removal of resources gained through automation, and warning.

Repeated violations: Permanent account ban.

Sophisticated botting operations: Permanent ban of all associated accounts, potential legal action.

5. Bug Exploits

Policy

Intentionally exploiting bugs, glitches, or unintended game mechanics to gain unfair advantage is strictly prohibited. This includes:

  • Repeatedly abusing a known bug
  • Exploiting pathing errors to move units in unintended ways
  • Using glitches to bypass protection mechanics or attack cooldowns
  • Duplicating items, currency, or resources through exploits
  • Accessing areas of the game not intended for players
  • Continuing to exploit a bug after becoming aware it is unintended

Reporting vs. Exploiting

If you discover a bug, you are required to report it immediately to support with detailed information. Do not exploit it for personal gain. Players who discover and report bugs in good faith will not face penalties, even if they have unknowingly triggered a bug before reporting it. However, players who repeatedly use a bug after discovery will face sanctions.

Good Faith Exception

Minor bugs that provide negligible advantage (e.g., visual glitches, brief UI errors) are treated leniently. However, bugs that significantly impact gameplay, economy, or competitive balance must be reported immediately and cannot be exploited.

Enforcement

First offense (minor exploit): Account warning, removal of illegitimate gains.

First offense (major exploit): Account suspension (7-30 days), complete rollback of account to pre-exploit state, or permanent ban depending on severity.

Repeated violations: Permanent account ban.

Good faith reporting: No penalties. Players may receive cosmetic rewards for significant bug reports.

Appeal Process

Account Penalties

If your account has been suspended or terminated, you may appeal by contacting support with:

  • Your account name
  • The reason you believe the enforcement action was in error
  • Any supporting evidence or context

Appeal Timeline

We will review appeals within 14 days. Appeal decisions are final and binding. Appeals should not be used to dispute gameplay outcomes or argue against enforcement of clear rule violations.

Seasonal Consequences

Enforcement actions on seasonal servers do not automatically transfer to permanent servers or future seasons, unless the violation represents a serious threat to game integrity (such as account selling or botting operations). However, repeated violations across multiple seasons will result in escalating penalties up to permanent platform bans.

Monitoring and Detection

We employ automated systems and manual review to detect violations of these rules. These systems monitor:

  • Chat logs and communications for offensive content
  • Account creation patterns and access logs for multi-accounting
  • Gameplay patterns inconsistent with human behavior
  • Economic anomalies suggesting resource duplication or inflation
  • Suspicious IP addresses and login patterns

Detection does not guarantee immediate action. Our moderation team reviews flagged activity to determine context and appropriate response.
